The Quran is the central spiritual textual content in Islam. Muslims imagine the Quran was verbally revealed by God, by means of the angel Gabriel, to the Prophet Muhammad over the course of 23 years.
The Quran was revealed in Arabic and it contains: 30 sections, 114 chapters, 6,236 verses and 77,432 phrases.
The primary verse of the Quran interprets to: “Learn, within the Identify of your Lord Who created …” [Al-’Alaq: 1]
Muslims are inspired to repeatedly learn and memorise the Quran which has been preserved – to the letter – in its unique kind because it was revealed greater than 1,400 years in the past.
Among the many oldest Quranic manuscripts in existence are the Sanaa Quran and Birmingham College Quran, each of which date again to the seventh century.
